Instrumental Music Program at Kildare

The Instrumental Music Program at Kildare Catholic College provides a vibrant and busy learning environment for students interested in music. The program combines individual music tuition with many ensemble opportunities and links to classroom music.

Individual Tuition is available in violin, viola, cello, double bass, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, keyboard, guitar, bass guitar, drums and voice.

Kildare Catholic College has a proud history of supporting the musical talents of students who have performed extensively at such events as the Wagga, Leeton and Albury Eisteddfods, Relay for Life, CMRI Children’s Fair, World AIDS Awareness Day, and college events such as liturgies and cabaret nights.

Students are invited to join the following ensembles offered at Kildare.  

Groove: An ensemble that allows younger students of all levels to perform rock and funk songs in an ensemble.

Rehearsal Time: Tuesday Lunch

Level: Beginner to Intermediate


Scratch: An advanced ensemble which plays jazz, funk and rock tunes. Regularly performs at functions in the Wagga area.

Rehearsal Time: Tuesday 3:30pm – 5:00pm Level:  Intermediate to Advanced


Woodwind Ensemble: An ensemble for all woodwind players, beginner to advanced to experience a vast range of repertoire from traditional to contemporary hits.

Rehearsal Time: Wednesday Lunch

Level: All

Percussion Ensemble: Learn to play an exciting range of grooves and beats on all kinds of drums and percussion instruments.

Rehearsal Time: Monday Lunch

Level: All


KCO – Kildare Chamber Orchestra: Popular and Classical repertoire for strings, flute, oboe, recorder, classical guitar and keyboard. Opportunities for lots of performing and busking.

Rehearsal Time: Thursday Lunch

Level: All


Open Choir: This choir is open to any student from 7-12 who enjoys singing. The repertoire is selected by the students.

Rehearsal Time: Thursday Lunch

Level: All


Senior Choir: This choir is an auditioned choir for students from 7-12, that explores complex harmonies. They perform regularly at masses, assemblies, awards nights, and various community events.

Rehearsal Time: Monday Lunch

Level: Advanced


Start your own ensemble: Kildare also boasts several student run ensembles. Rehearsal venues, equipment and mentoring are available to interested students who demonstrate a high level of responsibility, commitment and initiative.
