Newsletter No9 (16 June 2017)
As we enter the last two weeks of what has been a very productive term, it is at this time of the year that we take the opportunity to reflect. As a staff, we spent last Friday at our annual Spirituality Day revisiting the fantastic contribution that has been made to Catholic Education in Wagga Wagga by the Presentation Sisters. We were honored to hear from Sisters Barbara, Carmel, Margaret, Noela, Colleen and Sr Alexis about their history at Mt Erin and other areas of education that they have been involved in. We also thank Father Paddy, Luke Tobin and John Goonan for their contribution in making our day one that was both affirming and energising.
Another important aspect of reflection that occurs at this stage of the year is the writing of Semester Reports for Years Seven to Eleven. Year Eleven will receive their digital reports this afternoon, and Years 7 to 10 will be sent out over the coming fortnight. I encourage students and families to use these documents as a means of feedback on the past two terms work and to investigate ways that various aspects of learning and performance can be improved over the latter part of the year. Thanks to staff who have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks and months to gather information that reflects clearly each student’s progress across their various learning domains. Time will be spent during Coaching for students and their coaches to have conversations about how they might best consolidate their work over the remainder of the year.
Thanks again for your support over the recent weeks. We welcome Rod back on Monday after his well-earned study and leave break.
